Recruitment Scope
Applies to all applicant tracks including qualified attorneys, legal interns (stajyer avukat), paralegals, and administrative staff members.
12-Month Safekeeping
Unsuccessful candidate CVs are safely retained for a maximum rolling window of 12 months for future matches, then permanently destroyed.
1. Scope of Applicant Data Processing
As part of our recruitment and talent acquisition processes for attorneys, legal interns (stajyer avukat), paralegals, and administrative staff, Aydemir Law Firm processes specialized personal data. This processing is conducted in strict compliance with the KVKK, the GDPR, the Turkish Labor Law No. 4857, and the Attorneyship Law No. 1136.
2. Categories of Applicant Data
When you apply for a position via our Website, designated email channels, or any recruitment platform, we collect and process:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) & Academic Data: Educational background, university transcripts, bar exam scores, language proficiency certifications, professional qualifications, publications, and academic awards.
- Employment History: Previous law firm affiliations, corporate in-house experience, judicial clerkships, professional references, and detailed professional experience records.
- Background Checks: Subject to applicable law and with your prior informed consent, criminal record certificates (adli sicil kaydı), professional disciplinary records, and bar association standing verifications.
- Interview Records: Notes taken during interviews, assessments, and evaluations, including competency-based assessments and technical evaluations.
3. Legal Basis and Retention
Applicant data is processed strictly on the legal basis of taking steps prior to entering into an employment or professional partnership contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) / KVKK Art. 5(2)(c)), and where applicable, on the basis of the Firm’s legitimate interest in assessing candidates (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
If your application is successful, your data will be transferred to your permanent employee file and processed in accordance with the Firm’s Employee Privacy Policy. If your application is unsuccessful, the Firm will retain your CV and submitted documentation for a maximum period of twelve (12) months to consider you for future opportunities, after which it will be irreversibly destroyed unless you formally request its immediate erasure by contacting info@aydlaw.com. The Firm will notify you before the end of the retention period if it wishes to extend the retention of your data.
4. Applicant Rights
All data subject rights enumerated in Part II, Section 9 of this document apply equally to applicants. In particular, applicants have the right to request access to, rectification of, or erasure of their personal data at any time during or after the recruitment process by submitting their query to info@aydlaw.com.
